ISO 14001 for CPM!

14 JANUARY 2010 | BY ANDY BUCK, CLIENT SERVICES DIRECTOR

CPM has achieved the ISO 14001 accreditation. Administered by the British Standards Institute, ISO 14001 is the International Standard that specifies a process for controlling and improving an organization's environmental performance.

Client Service Director Andy Buck is the driving force behind CPM's environmental taskforce, Team Lush. He says:
"Obtaining ISO14001 registration has enabled us to demonstrate sound environmental performance and put in place effective procedures to identify, control and manage the environmental impacts of our activities and services.

"For some time now we've been working on recycling initiatives, waste reduction and energy efficiencies as part of the ISO 14001 accreditation process. The fact that we are now registered means that we are committed to reaching and building on the environmental targets we set in 2009."

As one of our key areas of focus, CPM is looking to progressively reduce the environmental impact of its car fleet.
"With a field sales force of 2,000 staff, we chalk up in the region of 1.8 million miles a month" adds Andy, "We are acutely conscious of the need to take accountability of our carbon footprint, and we want our clients to know that we share and uphold their environmental values".

So far, 20% of CPM's overall fleet is sub135 g/km Co2. By switching to ECO cars, we estimate that cost savings in the region of £500 per driver per annum will be made for our clients.
