CPM staff dedicated Friday 27 February to raising funds in aid of the humanitarian crisis in Haiti. The grand total of donations is expected to exceed £5,000.
CPM is part of the global communications group, Omnicom, which has pledged to match dollar for dollar up to a total of $1million, all employee contributions to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund, so CPM's donation - in the region of $750,000 - will join that of sister companies from around the world. Every dollar of the monies donated to the fund will be put to work in Haiti.
Says Managing Director Martin Ryan: "Much of the credit for CPM's fantastic contribution goes to our Sports and Social Team, who rallied the various departments to come up with a range of challenges, forfeits and prizes. These proved to be as entertaining as they were lucrative."
An auction, hosted by Martin Ryan, included the prize of a three course meal to be cooked (and washed up) by a member of CPM's Board. A raffle at our Thame office raised £559 alone, and each department came up with its own fundraising initiative. Most appropriately, it was the Finance and Payroll Department that raised the highest single team figure - of £733.
The truly inventive range of activities included a cook-off in our Leeds office, and the creation of a music single by our Mercedes Team, while the Contract Operations Team enthusiastically took instruction from a troupe of Morris Dancers. One of the day's most spectacular diversions was created when Colin Clark, Director of Information Services, received a hosing down by firemen from Thame Fire Station. The full crew and fire engine in the company's car park added to the carnival atmosphere, and a great day was had by all.
